Nokia Assessment

Conducted a License to Sell assessment for Nokia promoters yesterday. The program is part of Nokia’s commitment to ensure that its promoters are well equiped with the knowledge and skills to present accurate and relevant information about Nokia products to customers, while maintaining the highest service standards.
Interestingly, a handful of promoters were pretty edgy and nervous during the face to face assessment, even though they’re experienced and have no problems whatsoever speaking to people. I made some small talk with most of them before and after the actual assessment proper, and they’re perfectly comfortable. It’s only when we enter the proper assessment phase when they start getting nervous.
This is due to a change in their state of mind. As a result, their physiology and speech pattern changes as well. We can credit this change in behaviour as a result of the awareness that they are now being assessed, and the whole meaning of their experience changes.
In essence, they have placed themselves into an assessment “Frame of Mind“. So they begin to exhibit behaviours that correspond with that of being assessed. This is perfectly normal and there’s nothing wrong with it. Having said that, there are ways to place yourself in more empowering states, and you may wish to check out my other communication blog to sign up for free and learn some useful techniques =)
