Here in KL for a Nokia product training for Malaysia retailers over the next two days. It’s been a while since I’ve been training in KL.. cant wait to see some familiar faces. Staying at the Parkroyal Bukit Bintang this time round. Pretty good location; plenty of shopping around here. More importantly, it’s a short walk away from the training venue at Pavilion =P
Check out pics of the hotel room. Relatively decent, though the picture quality can be better (I’ll need to get my hands on the latest imaging device from Nokia… )

Interestingly, the sink is outside the toilet.

Finished the last installation of communication training for RevoE Orgaisation yesterday. It’s been quite an interesting ride. We started from having just an idea to share with people about interpersonal communication skills, to developing the training content, to looking for attendees, to launching, and finally completing the course.
Still some areas to fine tune. For a start, 20 hours for the whole course seemed long initially, though the amount of sharing and discussions eventually meant that every session was stretched past the allocated time. Nonetheless, great job put together by everyone! Speacial thanks also to Jeraine and Samuel for their kind support and understanding.
Here’s a nice testimonial:
“Highly informative, this course has shed light and provided insight into the communication styles that we take for granted on a daily basis. It brings to focus what essentially is the various ways of using language, gestures and knowledge to create effective communication between people, thereby improving our professional and personal lives. Joel is highly energectic, motivated and very in tune with the students in his course. Open to new perspectives and candid with his personal experiences”

Was stuck in the lift this morning. What a way to start my day..
There was a lady with a bicycle who entered the lift one floor after me. Apparently, she didn’t push her bike into the lift completely, and the door shut. So the doors didn’t manage to close completely, which seemed ok at that point because the lift was still travelling down normally. Then she pulled her bike loose and suddenly the lift stopped. I literally rolled my eyes at her.
Luckily I wasn’t late for training (yes, I conduct trainings on labour day too =P). Today’s the third installation of Communication Training for RevoE Organisation. Good to see everyone slowly starting to use some Enneagram and profiling lingo in their conversation, shows that they are moving slowly from conscious competence to unconscious competence.
We covered Representational Systems and Eye Accessing Cues today. If you’re interested to find out ways to discover a person’s dominant senses, you can visit my communication blog to find out some tips on Interpersonal Communication Skills too!

Conducted a product training at Singtel this morning, so that completes this round of product trainings for the three operators. Been a while since I’ve done operator trainings, and I think I’m getting old =P Left the stack of sales sheet in my house today, and I only realised it when I got to the training venue. Thankfully, Jeraldine came to my rescue with another set of notes. Mental note: should buy her coffee next time
Just finished typing the script for my Enneagram videos too. Strangely enough, though I literally speak for a living, I seem to have many stop starts when I do audio recordings. The scripts should come in handy. So stay tuned for my Enneagram videos if you’re interested in personality profiling =)
Food for thought: Which is worse? An outbreak of swine flu, or further rounds of retrenchments?
